FUNERAL SERVICE for 74 year old Mrs. Mary Black of Clarksville, Texas, went to be with her Lord, March 2, 2014 at her residence, will be Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Clarksville, TX, Rev. Mary Evelyn Mims Black was born May 2, 1939 to the late Wrenzy D Mims Sr. and Jessie M. Wade Mims in Clarksville, TX, English Community. She was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers. She attended Clarksville schools.

Mary accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Martin Shiloh Baptist Church. She later united with St. Paul United Methodist Church where she was active and served diligently on the usher board where she held various positions until her health declined.

Mary was united in marriage to James M. Black Sr. who preceded her into an eternal rest. To this union three children were born. She was the best mom to Natalie, James Jr. and Diane.

She was employed at Philips Industries in Clarksville, TX and retired after 33 years. Mary had a selfless and kind-hearted nature, and was devoted to her family and friends. She had a passion for gardening and loved “tending” to her houseplants and flower beds.

On March 2, 2014, Mary went home to be with the Lord. She leaves to her memories:
