Graveside service for Ms. Marlene Norman 85 of Houston, formerly of Boxelder, Texas who went to be with her Lord, August 8, 2020 at Zion Healthcare Center, Houston, TX will be Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Shawnee Baptist Church, Boxelder, Texas @ 11:00 a.m. with Pastor S.S. Carreathers officiating. Interment will be in Shawnee Cemetery, Boxelder, Texas under the direction of Citizens Funeral Home, 500 E. Church Street, Clarksville, TX. Viewing will be Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Trinity Gardens First Baptist Church, 6610 Wileyvale Road, Houston, TX from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Ms. Marlene Thompson Norman was born April 14, 1935, to Jessie L. Thompson and Pearlie Lee Thompson in Texarkana, TX. They later moved to Boxelder, Texas.

Marlene attended Walnut Grove School in Boxelder. She joined Shawnee Baptist Church at an early age, under the leadership of Rev. Ossie Coleman, she was a faithful member. She moved to Houston to be with her children and joined Trinity Gardens’ First Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Robert McClean. She truly loved her “Garden Family” and going to church.

Marlene departed this life on earth on August 8, 2020. She is preceded in death by her husband Rawleighns Norman; sisters: Rosie Thompson, Zora Barksdale; brothers: Rolin Thompson, JT Thompson.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Sons: Itolia(Gloria), Lawrence(Laura), Wynzell; Daughters: Carolyn, Janet and Jackie and a host of grands, other relatives and friends.
