Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Brown Pullen, 86, of Wrightsville, will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at 12:00 PM at the Community Missionary Baptist Church, 627 James Grove Church Road, Wrightsville. Reverend Marque Harden will officiate. Burial will follow at the Cypress Grove Church Cemetery in Wrightsville.

Mrs. Pullen was born on May 9, 1927, to the late Homer Lee & Pecola Hightower Brown of Wrightsville. She peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 2, 2013, at home with her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Pullen was a member of the historical St. Galilee Baptist Church where she faithfully served for many years until her health failed. She worked for several local families including the Sheppard, Row and Claxton families before retiring from the local Dairy Queen in Wrightsville in 1992 with 17 years of service.

On October 25, 1947, she was joined in holy matrimony to the late John Willie Pullen for 61 years upon his passing March 29, 2009.

Mrs. Pullen is preceded in death by all of her siblings, Eva Hightower Reese, Ulysses Brown, Lucille Brown Davis and Eddie Brown. She leaves to cherish her memories four children, Felice M. Pullen, Sandra D. Pullen, Sherrie D. Pullen and Travolta D. Pullen; three grandchildren who affectionately called her MeMa, Brittney E. Pullen, Ma'Lik D. Pierce and A'Niya A. Pullen; god-granddaughter, Ziyah Z. Lewis; devoted god-son, Larry (Barbara) Waters all of Wrightsville.

Mrs. Pullen will be remembered by her sisters-in-law & brother-in-law, Lennie M. Pullen, Jennie M. (Anderson) Outler all of McDonough, and Geannie Pullen of Newnan. She was well known as "Auntie or Aunt Marie" by all of her nieces and nephews. Not only will she be remembered as "Auntie or Aunt Marie," but for her dedicated love that was shown and the wonderful meals she prepared before her health prevented her from doing so. A Lady with seldmon words will be missed by several long time friends and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the family residence, 4362 Liberty Grove Church Road, Wrightsville. Mrs. Pullen will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
