MEMORIAL SERVICE for 102 year old Mrs. Marie Murphy of Clarksville, Texas, went to be with her Lord, Saturday April 19, 2014 at the home of her niece, Susan in Clarksville, Texas will be Monday, April 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at McKenzie Methodist Church, Clarksville, TX, Pastor Jerry Colgrove, officiating.

Marie Gassner Murphy was born on April 18, 1912 in Virginia to George and Bertha Simond Gassner.

April 18, 2012 was declared Marie Murphy Day in Clarksville, Texas by Mayor Ann Rushing. Marie joined as an active member of Jolly Gems, a women charity organization at age 100.

Marie was a member of McKenzie Methodist Church since moving to Texas in 2008. She truly loved the Lord.

She loved to play all kinds of games and had a great sense of humor, always brought a smile to your face.

Marie was married to Charles Murphy, a well-known artist, and they traveled extensively all over the world.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years of marriage, Charles and one son, Davison.

She leaves to cherish memories:
3 grandchildren, one great grandchild residing in Arizona.
3 nieces and nephews, 8 great nieces and nephews, 15 great-great nieces and nephews -all mostly residing in Texas.
