Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Bell Bonner, of East Dublin, will be held on Saturday, February 1, at 1 PM at the Williams Chapel Baptist Church, 1142 Highway 29 South in East Dublin. Reverend James Sherman will officiate.

And so it was in the evening of Monday, January 27, 2014 Marie Bell Bonner's spirit returned unto God. She was born as the fourth of ten children to Linnie and Watson Bell on June 13, 1915, in Washington County, Georgia. Seven preceded her in death: Georgia Mae Duffie, Cuba Spikes, Mary Lizzie Fowler, Dee Spikes, Daniel Spikes, Horace Spikes and Zenola Clemmons.

Marie Bell Bonner was a member of the Williams Chapel Baptist Church in East Dublin from early childhood and throughout her adult life. Defined as a virtuous woman by those closest to her, she was a strong family-oriented individual, hard working and self reliant. She was united in marriage in 1942 to her husband, the late George Bonner, for 39 years. She was preceded in death by two children Emma Lee Charleston and Charlie Roy Bonner; a daughter-in-law, Annie Willie Charleston; and two sons-in-law, Robert Miller and Robert Turner, Sr.

To continue to cherish fond memories of Mrs. Bonner are her children, Roosevelt Charleston of East Dublin; J. D. Plummer (Beatrice) of Dublin; Linnie Turner of East Dublin; and Palarie Miller of Dublin, her two sisters, Lula Lewis and Essie Patterson of Dublin, two sisters-in-law, Ethel Spikes of Dublin and Sylvia Spikes of Orange City, NJ; 18 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Linnie Turner, 418 Jordan Street in East Dublin.
