Manzie Jones

Funeral services for Mr. Manzie Jones, of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11 AM at the Greater Union Grove Church of God in Christ, 4780 US Highway 80 West, Montrose. Bishop J. W. Leggett will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Manzie Jones was born on March 23, 1931, to the late Mrs. Callie Taylor Coleman, the late Mr. Richard Jones, and the late Arthur Coleman. Mr. Jones was a faithful member of the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, and later joined the Greater Union Grove Church in Montrose, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. Deacon Jones was devoted to his church family, and was loved by all whom he came in contact with. Deacon Jones retired from Belk Matthews after 30 years of service, and Capital City Bank after 16 years. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Mother Margaret Jones, a brother, Hurbert Jones, and a sister Wessie Mae Horne. He made his transition from this life on November 14, 2018.

Deacon Jones leaves to cherish his memory, one god-daughter, Beulah (Billy) Singleton of Dublin, brothers, Walter (Rebertha) Jones and Richard Jones of Newark, New Jersey, Charles (Annie) Howard of Milledgeville, a devoted niece, Marjorie Jones Swint, of Dublin, devoted cousins, Annie Ruth Carter of Dublin, and Rose Mae Martin of Wrightsville, and a host of nieces , nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 1500 Old Lovett Road, East Dublin.
