Manuel Slaughter

Funeral services for Mr. Manuel Slaughter, of Montrose, will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at 2 PM at the Friendship Baptist Church, 5201 Highway 112 in Allentown. Reverend James Brown will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Manuel Slaughter was born on May 10, 1922, in Wilkinson County to the late Tom and Willie Mae Slaughter. He was educated in Wilkinson County. Mr. Slaughter was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy L. Slaughter, three sons, Emanuel Jr., Edward and Robert Slaughter, four daughters, Eddie Mae Beard, Lizzie Mae Young, Earnestine and Shirley Slaughter, and one grandson, Darick Slaughter. He passed away on November 7, 2017.

He leaves to cherish his memories one sister, Rose Lee Burkett, of Macon, three sons, Tommie (Blundale) Slaughter of Dublin, Willie L. Slaughter of Montrose, and Kevin Allen of Akron Ohio; three daughters, Rose M. Sanders, Arnetta (Willie B.) White, both of Montrose, and Brenda Burrell of Akron, Ohio. seventeen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, a devoted friend, Oliver Young, Jr,. of Montrose, a dedicated nephew, Willie Stuckey, Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family is receiving friends at 2562 Montrose-Allentown Road in Montrose.
