Funeral services for Mrs. Mamie Sue Wheat, of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at 12 PM in the C. D. Dudley Memorial Chapel at the Dudley Funeral Home. Brother Joe Rumph will officiate.

Mrs. Wheat, who passed on December 8, 2015, was born on April 4, 1922, in Oconee County near Athens to her parents, the late Ed Sims and the late Reve Mabel Sims.

She lived in Atlanta, Georgia for sixty years and came to Dublin in 2007, where she lived at Dublinair Healthcare and Rehab Center for eight years.

Mrs. Wheat was preceded in death by her husband, Abe Wheat; one daughter, Mattie Sue Sims; four brothers, Fred Sims, G. Sims, AB Sims, Otis Sims; four sisters, Grace Ware, Flora Morris, Rosa Thorpe, Jewel Sims, a niece and several nephews.

Mrs. Wheat is survived by one sister; Margret Jones; nieces, Joe Ann (Joe) Rump, Reve Sims, Lean Sims; nephews, Luke (Thelma) Morris, Clarence Morris; great nieces, Tami (Fred) Jones, Ella (Jimmy) Carter; great nephews, Emanuel (Elva) Williams whom she helped to raise and care for as her own children, and a host of great nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
