Maggie Linder

Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Reese Linder, of Wrightsville, Georgia, will be held on 11 AM on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at the Saint Galilee Baptist Church, 1053 Idylwild Road, Wrightsville. Reverend Anthony Maxwell will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Greater New Evergreen Cemetery.

Maggie Reese was the tenth child born to the late Mr. Charlie Reese and Mrs. Sally Weaver Reese in Johnson County, Georgia. She received her early education at home, her church, her community, and at Doc Kemp School. She later became a master beautician and took great pride in her career, enhancing the natural beauty of local women who trusted her with the care of their hair. She was a confident business woman and always eager to learn more about her profession. She joined Saint Galilee Baptist Church as a young child and continued her service to her church until her recent illness. She loved Saint Galilee and worked tirelessly with the youth, the Sunday School, the WMBS, the Missionary Department and the Choir.

She became Maggie Reese Linder when she married the true love of her life of sixty-five years, the late Reverend Elester Linder, and stood by his side as The First Lady at the churches where he served as pastor.

Mrs. Linder is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and all of her siblings. She had seven sisters, Carrie Reese Lowe, Gozella Reese Graddy. Pearl Reese, Janie Reese, Vera Reese Hightower, Mollie Reese Lewis, and Beatrice Reese Hightower. She had two brothers, Willie Reese and Charlie Reese.

Mrs. Linder will be cherished, loved and deeply missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church families around the area. She loved and enjoyed her family; and had a special relationship with her nephew, Donald, and niece, Margaret.

The family will receive friends at the Dudley Funeral Home on Friday, 7-8 PM.
