Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel Smith Walker, 85, will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 22769 SW 120th Avenue in Miami, Florida. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Park South Cemetery, 11655 S.W. 117th Avenue in Miami, Florida. Mrs. Walker who passed on August 13, 2012 was born July 28, 1927 in Laurens County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Charlie Smith. She was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. She served diligently as a #1 Choir member, an Eastern Star and organized a singing group called The Voices Stars of Glory. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Walker; four children, Johnny Jones, Annie Denise Whitfield, Lorenzo Walker and Clinton Jones; two sisters and four brothers. Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Walker; two sons, Lenton Jones and Louis Walker; one sister, Christine Hodges, twenty-eight grandchildren, fifty-one great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
