Lynnetta Kaye McPeters (Netta) was born on March 29, 1978, in Clarksville, Texas, to Lavion McPeters, Sr., and Shirley (McIntosh) McPeters. She was the 12th out of 13 children. Lynnetta was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley (McIntosh) McPeters and her brother, Lavion McPeters, Jr.
At the age of 15, Lynnetta left Clarksville and moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico, to live with her Aunt Mary and Uncle Thomas. She graduated from Alamogordo High School and began working at Hastings. Netta adored her Aunt Mary and Uncle Thomas.
Lynnetta moved to Albuquerque in 2000 and, soon after, joined God’s House Church under the leadership of Bishop Michael and First Lady Charlotte Shelby. Given Lynnetta’s bubbly personality and her loving, caring spirit, she quickly became like a daughter to Bishop and Sister Shelby. Lynnetta was active in the church almost immediately. During her years at God’s House, she served in many capacities. Lynnetta was in the adult and youth choirs, a praise dancer, a news caster for announcements, part of the young people’s ministry, worked in the kitchen ministry, with the pastor’s aide, and she taught Sunday School; but in reality, Lynnetta would always help wherever, whoever, whenever, and however she could. Netta would give you her last dollar without batting an eye. Not only was she faithful, but she was hard working, easy to work with, and didn’t complain. She enjoyed socializing, and she particularly loved going bowling on Sunday nights with people from the church. Netta would also go toe-to-toe with you making her point, if she thought she was right!
Laughing was one of Netta’s favorite pastimes, especially when watching Sanford and Son, America’s Funniest Home Videos, or Good Times. She enjoyed “swimming” and playing in the water, even though she couldn’t swim a lick. Lynnetta celebrated her birthday throughout the entire month of March and enjoyed going out for seafood, Red Lobster to be exact, that was her favorite!
While in Albuquerque, Lynnetta worked at Hastings, Ross, Wells Fargo, and Popeyes before being hired as a tech agent with Comcast in May of 2009. By this time, Lynnetta was really feeling the need for a change and a fresh start in her life so she began exploring transfer opportunities to other states. She considered opportunities on the east coast, before she finally chose Colorado Springs, Colorado, allowing her to be closer to her family and friends in Texas and New Mexico. She really enjoyed her job at Comcast and was a senior agent in the Loyalty Center of Excellence. Netta’s career goal was to grow into leadership. She mentored new hires and served as a point of contact (POC) for supervisors. She was also involved in the company’s diversity and inclusion program. Lynnetta was loved by her colleagues. Her supervisor, Lisa Taylor, recalled an incident that happened one morning when Netta, as usual, arrived early to work. She was in the parking lot getting something out of her trunk when a mountain lion came up behind her, so she jumped into the trunk of her car. She didn’t have her phone so she was stuck in her trunk for about an hour and half waiting to hear someone outside so she could bang on the trunk to let them know she was in there—just like Lynnetta!
Upon arriving in Colorado Springs, Lynnetta’s love for God and desire to find a new church home led her to Colorado Springs Apostolic Church with Pastor Ronald and First Lady Jocelyn Kelly. Once again, Netta got busy doing what she loved, serving. She was in the choir, a praise dancer, altar worker, president of the youth and women’s ministries, a deaconess, trustee, and Sunday school teacher. She had a special love for children. Her official title was Deaconess Lynnetta Dailey, but she was fondly referred to as Ms. Netta and The Candy Lady. Her favorite candy was Snickers, even though she wasn’t supposed to eat them, and two of her favorite sayings were “This is the gospel according to Lynnetta” and “God loves Lynnetta McPeters Pitt Dailey.” One of her favorite scriptures was Psalm 34:1-3.
Joseph and Lynnetta met at Colorado Springs Apostolic Church in Colorado Springs. They were both very active in the church and eventually began dating and fell in love. The Deacon and Deaconess were married on April 18, 2015. Netta loved her some Joe! She always talked about how good Joe treated her, and how she felt like she was his queen. Through this union, Lynnetta gained three bonus children, Quenshai, Derrian, and Aaron, along with a granddaughter, Kali, all of whom she loved dearly. After completing an associate degree, Lynnetta continued her education and was working towards earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado Christian College. In December of 2020, construction of Joe and Lynnetta’s new home was finally completed, and she became a homeowner for the first time in her life! Netta was so thankful and proud of her many accomplishments.
Lynnetta leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband, Joseph Dailey; bonus children, Quenshai, Derrian, and Aaron Dailey; father, Lavion McPeters, Sr.; brothers, Dennis (Stephanie) McPeters, Clarksville, Texas, Darryl McPeters, Killeen, Texas, Tracy, Greg, and Brett McPeters, Clarksville, Texas; sisters, Imogene (Kevin) Parrish, Arlington, Texas, Armenthia McPeters, Paris, Texas, Laverna McPeters, Clarksville, Texas, Patricia McPeters, Reno, Texas, Beverly McPeters, Forney, Texas, and Teresa McPeters, Reno, Texas; granddaughter, Kali; special friend and mentor, Gina Bell, Albuquerque, New Mexico; special aunt, Mary Cathryn Ford, Greenville, TX and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and friends.
