Funeral Services for Mrs. Lue Ruth Coney, 63, of 137 Hillsdale Drive, Atlanta will be held on Saturday, September 22 at 1PM at the Rice Hill Baptist Church, 2760 Moore Station Road. Reverend Derwin Ramey will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Coney who passed on September 14, 2012, was born May 28, 1949, in Chester. She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Louise Gilbert Davis, of Dublin, her grandparents, and one brother. She moved to Atlanta in 1967 and remained until her passing. She was employed with the Atlanta Federal, and also in domestics. She was married to Charlie L. Coney, and to this union three children were born. Mrs. Davis is survived by her loving husband, Charlie L. Coney of Atlanta, three children, Angela (Parrish) Whitaker of Stockbridge, Jeffery Coney of Atlanta, and Sebrina (D. C.) Johnson of Riverdale, four grandchildren, Kennesha Coney of Stockbridge, Jaquan Gillian and Ioyanna Coney of Atlanta, Jayla Johnson of Riverdale, and one great-granddaughter, Zariah Love of Stockbridge, two sisters, Jean Davis of Jonesboro, and Jacquelyn W. Pearson of Dublin, three brothers, Robert Davis of Atlanta, and Herbert Blash of Morrow, and Willie Wright of Hapeville, three aunts, Rosie (Tommie) Montford, Vera and Blanche Gilbert, two uncles, Charlie and Willie Gilbert, two special nieces and nephew she helped to rear, April Obie, Ayriel Wright, and Melieck Price. She also leaves to mourn her memories, a special cousin, Leola Scarborough of Orlando, FL., and good friends Ollie Ramey, Betty Jones, Mattie Gilbert, and a host of nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, other relatives and friends.
