Funeral services for Mother Ludie P. Brown, of Dublin, will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the Greater New Evergreen Baptist Church, 1599 US Hwy 80 East in East Dublin. Minister Michael Kirkland will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Mother Brown, a native of Dublin, was born on March 7, 1919, to the late Cliff Powell and Gussie Coleman Powell. She married the late Reverend Charles Brown Sr. on September 1, 1941, and they had five children. Mother Brown was educated in Laurens County Schools. She served as president of the PTA at B. D. Perry High School. She retired from Laurens County Schools as a lunch room worker. She joined the New Evergreen Church at an early age and served on the Usher Board for many years and as a Sunday School teacher. She was a Mother of the church for over 50 years.

She was preceded in death by two children, Ruth Moore and Reverend Charles Brown, Jr.

Mother Brown leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Marjorie (William) Brazeal, East Dublin, Myrtle Brown, Jacksonville, North Carolina, son, Prentice C. Brown, Zanesville, Ohio, four grandchildren that she raised as her own, Thomas (Tanva) Edmond, Reginald (Valerie) Edmond, Chandler (Cotrina) Edmond, and Nichole Edmond, all of Dublin, twenty-eight grandchildren, fifty great grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren, two sisters, Elmira Presley, of Bronx, New York, and Clifford Lee Lattimore of Saint Petersburg, Florida, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 1471 Brewton-Lovett Road in East Dublin, and 205 Clover Leaf Lane in Dublin.
