Funeral services for Mrs. Lola B. Smith King, 76, will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at 1PM at Rice Hill Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Abraham Crockett will officiate. Mrs. King, who passed on December 29, was the daughter of the late Charlie and Beaulah Haggins Smith. She was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. She was educated in the Laurens County Public School System. As a child she joined and attended Rice Hill Baptist Church on a regular basis. Mrs. King moved to Miami, FL while a young lady. This is where she married Roosevelt King where they resided in Miami for numerous years. Survivors include her devoted husband, Deacon Roosevelt King, Sr. of Dublin sons, Willie C. (Mare) King, Sr. of St. Petersburg, FL, Roosevelt King, Jr. of Miami, FL one brother, James (Priscilla) smith of Miami, FL six sisters, Linnette Smith and Martha N. Darrisaw both of Miami, FL, Izora (C.D.) Pauldo and Mamie L. Adams her sister and caretaker all of Dublin, Elois (Robert) Ashford and Joan Smith both of Cleveland, OH one surviving aunt, Mary Anderson of Dublin, 16 grandchildren and her assistant caretaker Paulette A. Snell and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at the home of her sister, Mamie Adams 224 Parker Dairy road Dublin, and at the Dudley Funeral Home on Friday from 7-8pm.
