Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie "Sister" Wilson of Dublin will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Millville Baptist Church, 1681 Millville Church Road in Dublin. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery on Old Macon Road in Dublin. Reverend Kelvin R. Washington will officiate.

Mrs. Wilson, who passed on April 24, was born on February 28, 1929, to the late Raffield and Sarah Payne in Montrose. She was united in marriage to Mr. Holbert Wilson, Sr., on May 28, 1944. To this union, eight children were born.


Sister Wilson was a dedicated Christian who served faithfully throughout her life's journey. She served in several capacities including as Deaconess until a few months ago when her health started to wane. Prior to retirement, she worked in dietetic services at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Holbert "Harvey" Wilson, Sr.; her infant daughter, Otha Mae Wilson; her son, Elder Thomas L. Wilson, Sr.; her twin brother, Tommie Lee "Buddy" Payne, Sr. and by her parents.

Mrs. Wilson leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Rubye Hall of Dublin, Sara Wilson-Rogers of St. Francisville, Louisiana, Patricia Schmidt of Kennewick, Washington and Van Wilson of Savannah; two sons, Holbert (Gracie) Wilson, Jr. of Burbank, Washington, Andrew (Laverne) Wilson, Sr. of Dublin; daughter-in-law, Beverly Wilson of Dublin; sister, Bessie Anderson of Rentz; brother, Charles "Snap" (Christine) Stuckey of Dublin; sister-in-law, Mary Brezial of Macon; two aunts, Maggie Mack and Charlie Mae Payne both of Dublin and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, grandchildren, great grandchildren.


The family will receive friends at 1710 Millville Church Road in Dublin and at the Millville Baptist Church, 1681 Millville Church Road in Dublin on Sunday, April 28 from 6-7 PM.
