Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Marie “Rea” Taylor, of Glenwood, Georgia, will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at the Starlight Baptist Church, 7865 South Highway 19, in Glenwood. Reverend Earl Smith will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Lillie Marie Rivers was born on May 8, 1964, to Nayfield and the late Waultine Rivers in the backseat of her father’s pickup truck on the way to Vidalia. She joined the Starlight Baptist Church at an early age, became involved and dedicated to her church and served as a youth leader, as a devotional leader, as the church financial secretary, and she sang in the Senior Choir. She graduated from Wheeler County High School in the Class of 1982. She was a lifelong resident of Glenwood except for a short time in Atlanta. She later returned and married Lucious Taylor in 1988. She worked at McRae Manor Nursing home for twenty years as a certified nursing aide and restorative therapy aide, and she later began working at Meadows Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Vidalia. She passed away on October 12, 2017, in Vidalia.

Mrs. Taylor leaves memories to her husband of thirty-three years, Lucious Taylor of Glenwood, a stepdaughter, Kenay (Michael) Wright of Alamo, her father, Nayfield Rivers of Glenwood, her brother, Donnie (Marie) Rivers of Glenwood, her sister, Chris (Clarence) Stanley of Dublin, godchildren, Daisy, Edward, Nick, and DJ, her grandmother, Mary McClemore of Higgston, aunts, Bessie , Katie Mae, Georgia Mae, Gwen, all of Atlanta, Flosine of Glenwood, Bobbie Jean, and Grace of Higgston, uncles, Jewrell, Isaiah, Sr., Will Otis of Glenwood and Alamo, Jimmy and Ronnie of Vidalia, sisters-in-law, Irene Wilson of Mount Vernon, Louise and Daisy Mae of Alamo and Glenwood, and Amelia Smiley of Covington, brothers-in-law, Joe Albert Taylor of Mount Vernon, and Saul Taylor of Atlanta, step grandchildren, Micheisha, Iveri, Le’la, and Michael, Jr., of Alamo, a devoted and compassionate friend, Dorothy Boston, who always came by and visited with her, along with a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends, Earnestine, Nicole, and Sharon.

Special thanks to Dr. Richardson, Dr. Mark Taylor, Dr. Poole, McRae Manor Staff, Meadows Park Staff, Saint Joseph Candler Hospital and staff, and Community Hospice of Vidalia.

The family will receive friends at Starlight Baptist Church on Friday, October 20, 5-7 PM, and at the family residence.
