Funeral services for Mr. Leon Stanley, of Dublin, will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at 11 AM in the C. D. Dudley Memorial Chapel at the Dudley Funeral Home. Bishop Otha L. Stanley will officiate. Interment will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville.

Mr. Stanley, who passed on October 14, 2015, was born on November 8, 1953, to the late William and Willie Mae Stanley, Sr. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Jerome Stanley, Marvin Stanley, a nephew, three uncles and by his grandparents.

He attended Millville High School and later served in the United States Marine Corp from 1971 to 1981 where he served in the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart.

Mr. Stanley is survived by three brothers, William Stanley, Jr., Benny L. Stanley and Kenny Stanley; aunts and uncles, Eva (Benjamin) Davis, John Lewis (Jackie) Foreman and Jack (Connie) Foreman, Jr., Mary Helen Jones, Mary Foreman; three nieces, three nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the home of his brother, William Stanley, 712-B Brantley Homes in Dublin.
