Funeral services for Mrs. Lennie V. Wright Carey of Wrightsville will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Buckeye Baptist Church at 2176 New Buckeye Road in East Dublin. Interment will follow in the Buckeye Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Marque Harden will officiate. Mrs. Carey passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Emanuel County Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orian Carey, a daughter, Bennie Vera Carey and a grandson, Carlette Carey. She joined the Buckeye Baptist Church at an early age. She was a devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Mrs. Wright is survived eleven children, six daughters, Ora Carey and Mary Brown, Wrightsville Martha C. Mincey and Mary (Lonnie) Thomas, Dublin, Lollie (Moses) Hickey, College Park, Lillian White, Baltimore, Maryland, five sons: Garey (Kathryn) Carey, Savannah, Clyde (Warnette) Taylor and Elester (Delois) Wright, Wrightsville, Horatio Carey, Atlanta, Willie (Sadie) Taylor, Baltimore, Maryland, two sisters, Flossie Scott, Chicago, Illinois and Hazel Chillis, Buffalo, New York, one brother, William Wright, Miami, Florida, one sister-in-law, Jessie Kates Carey, Macon, sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
