Funeral Announcement – MONTFORD Lee Roy

Funeral services for Mr. Lee Roy Montford, of Jonesboro, Georgia, will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the Driskell Tabernacle Baptist Church, 223 Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive in Dublin. Reverend Dr. Daren Waters will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Lee Roy Montford was born on August 7, 1957 in Wrightsville, Georgia. He was the son of the late Naydene Montford Elbert and the late Roy Warthen.
Mr. Montford joined the Saint Galilee Baptist Church at an early age. He was a graduate of East Laurens High School, and of the Fort Valley State College where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He served in the United States Army for twenty years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, his father, and by his aunts, Annie Mae Montford and Gloria Montford. Mr. Montford passed away on October 17, 2018.

Mr. Montford leaves to cherish his memory his wife of thirty-three years, Essie Jean Broxton Montford, children, Anthony Wright of Jonesboro, Victoria Walker Salter of Dublin, sisters, Doreatha (Don) Dukes of Ellenwood, Mary Elbert of East Dublin, and Alice Jefferies of Bridgeport, Connecticut, brothers, Robert (Natalie) Warthen of Lilburn, Eric (Deidra) Warthen of Snellville, Reginald (Malaika) Warthen of Decatur, John Willie (Dorothy) Elbert, Bobby (Jacqueline) Elbert, Larry Elbert, Freddie (Dathery) Elbert, and Loran Elbert, all of Wrightville, Jimmy (Mary) Elbert of Meridan, Connecticut, grandchildren, Anthony Wright, Jr., of Douglasville, Tamiya Salter and Tabias Salter of Dublin, one great-grandchild, Bryleigh Millis of Dublin, aunts, Mary Alice (Perlie) Blair of Wrightsville, and Inez Montford of Miami, Florida, an uncle, David (Dianne) Montford of Adrian, special cousin, Vickie Willis, a special niece, Kyla Brown of Dublin, in-laws, Anginette (Karl) McRae of Union City, Very Lattimore of Dublin, Willie Broxton of Atlanta, James Edward (Tracy) Broxton of Dublin, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 102 Carter Street in Dublin, and on Friday, October 26, 7-8 PM, at the Dudley Funeral Home. Please post condolences at ServicesbyDudley.com.
