L. C. Stanley

Funeral services for Mr. L. C. Stanley, of Dublin, will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018, at 1 PM, at the Eason Hill Baptist Church, 2022 Eason Hill Church Road in Montrose. Reverend Lee Wornum, Jr., will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. L. C. Stanley was born on February 3, 1936, in Laurens County, Georgia, to the late Annie Mae Vickers and J. C. Stanley. At an early age, Mr. Stanley joined the Eason Hill Baptist Church where he served faithfully as chairman of the Deacon Board and was the current Assistant Chairman. Mr. Stanley was married to the love of his life, Rosa M. Cobb Stanley, on September 6, 1958; they were married for 59 years, 10 months, and 14 days; and to this union, two sons were born. Mr. Stanley worked at Warner Robins Air Force Base for forty years, and he worked as a bus driver at Dublin City School System for twenty years. He also owned his own lawn care service and he did janitorial service for many churches and businesses. Mr. Stanley passed away on July 14, 2018. One of his sons, Lewis Stanley, Jr., preceded him in death on December 23, 2017.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Rosa Stanley of Dublin, sons, Ricky (Wanda) Stanley of Atlanta, Fred (Renae) Coley of Jeffersonville, brother, Carlton Stanley of Montrose, sisters, Ida Mae Bledsoe, and Mattie Mae Stanley of Dublin, brothers-in-law, Johnny (Carolyn) Cobb, Ossie (Loretta) Cobb of Atlanta, and Alex Day of Chicago, Illinois, sisters-in-law, Ruth (Willie) Whipple of Dublin, and Sarah (Lamar) Sadler of Jeffersonville, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, special neighbor, Virginia Nesbitt, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
