Graveside Services for Mother Katie Lee Blash Coley, of Montrose, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2020, at 2 PM at the Christian Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, 1792 Georgia Hwy 26, Cochran. Elder Stan Ellis will officiate.

Mother Coley was born May 22, 1928, to the late Cleveland “Boise” Blash and Mary B. Hampton. She departed this life on Monday, March 23, 2020.

She attended school at Eason Hill Baptist Church in Montrose. She was employed in manufacturing for many years and was a great employee at Wal-Mart in Dublin where she worked until she was 85 years old. She was a dedicated member of Greater Union Grove Church of God in Christ. She was on the Mother Board. She sung for 55 years with her group, “The Coley Singers.”

Mother Coley was preceded in death by her late husband, Deacon Lee Morris “Pop” Coley, Sr.; daughter, Mary Ann White; siblings, Lucinda Blash-Brazil, Joseph Blash, Marble Lee Blash, Walter C. Blash, Annie Lee Bowden, Cleveland Blash, Jimmy Blash and Emma Blash Taylor. She was the last of the “Boise” clan to gain her wings .

She leaves behind two children, Evangelist Lucy Belle Coley and Leemorris Coley, Jr., both of Montrose; four children whom she raised as her own, Earnestine Hill of Milwakee, Wisconsin, Deloris Davis and Ira Baker both of Miami, Florida and the late Amos Baker; five grandchildren, Quentin White of Atlanta, Georgia, Muhammed White of Albany, Georgia, Lemorris Paxton and Lukatie Fuqua both of Montrose, Georgia, and Lucy (Marcus) Holliman of Warner Robins, Georgia,; twenty-three great-grandchildren, Raekwon Floyd of Jacksonville, Florida, whom she helped raise; one brother-in-law, Carl (Jeanie Mae) Coley of Miami, Florida; three sisters-in-law, Sally Blash, Daisy Blash, and Doris Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
