Funeral services for Mrs. Julia (Mae) Joiner-Coneway, 79, a resident of East Dublin, will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 2 PM at the Williams Chapel Baptist Church, 1142 Highway 29 South in East Dublin. Interment will be held in Dublin Memorial Gardens.

She was born on March 3, 1938, in Laurens County as the daughter of the late Wade and Armissa McClendon. She was lovingly united in marriage to Deacon Clester W. Coneway on July 3, 2015. She was educated in the Laurens County Schools. She was employed by Oxford Shirt Company as a seamstress for over twenty years and was the employee of the month in August 1992.

She became a member of the Williams Chapel Baptist Church at an early age and served faithfully in several ministries. She served on the Mother Board and received Mother of the Year 2009. Mrs. Coneway departed from this life on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at the Coliseum Medical Center in Macon, Georgia. She was preceded in death by a son Nathaniel Dixon.

Mrs. Coneway was loved and cherished by so many and will be forever missed by her eight children, Leotis (Sheila) Dixon of Knoxville, Tennessee; Ronnie Dixon of East Dublin, Leroy (Joletha) Dixon of Dublin, JoAnn (Gary) Casteel of Stockbridge, Brenda (Melvin) Moore of East Dublin, Tracy (Tena) Joiner of East Dublin, Shambreia Joiner of Washington, DC, and Shundre’ Joiner of East Dublin. She also leaves behind one sister, Lois Brown of Detroit, Michigan and one brother, Leon Paul McClendon of Detroit, Michigan, her grandchildren and others that loved her as their surrogate grandmother, who affectionately referred to her as “Ma”, including fifteen grandchildren as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

The family is receiving friends daily at 215 Jackson Street in East Dublin.
