Funeral services for Mr. Joseph "Spotlight" Smith, of Dexter, will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at the Saint Luke Baptist Church, 620 East Main Street, Dexter. Reverend Jamie Pittman will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born on May 11, 1953, to the late Guy and Doris Smith. He joined the Saint Luke Baptist Church at an early age. He was employed at Mohawk Industries for thirty three years until his health began to fail. He passed away on March 19, 2019.

Mr. Smith leaves to mourn his passing one daughter, Marica (Chris) Smith of Dexter, two sons, Ron (Brandy) Smith, Sr., of Dublin, Anthony (Cena) Brown, of Manning, South Carolina, three stepchildren, Tangela McDaniel of Dublin, Amanda Wright of Rentz, and Ronnie Loyd of Dublin, one sister, Sheila (Larry) Perry of Beaufort, South Carolina, and one brother, Guy (Amy) Smith of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, a devoted friend, Edith Loyd Horne, and a godfather, Mr. James Houston, seventeen grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family is receiving friends at 923 Railroad Street, Dexter.
