Johnny Reid, Sr.
Funeral services for Mr. Johnny Calvin Reid, Sr., of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at 11 AM, at the C. D. Dudley Memorial Chapel at the Dudley Funeral Home. Pastor Earnest T. Reid, Sr., will deliver the eulogy.
Mr. Johnny Calvin Reid Sr., was born on November 18, 1963, in Dublin, Georgia to the late Albert Reid, Sr., and Pauline "Susie" Reid. He was a graduate of West Laurens High School. He worked various jobs throughout Dublin and Laurens County until his health declined. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy McGuire, a sister-in-law, Jennie Mae and Frank Coney, a brother and sister-in-law, Herschel and Lola King, a grandmother, Rosie Baums, a father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Buster Thomas and Patsy Rawls. Mr. Reid departed this life on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at the Serenity Hospice in Dublin, Georgia.
Mr. Reid leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 35 amazing years, Sandy T. Reid of Dublin, Georgia, daughter Chastity (O. J.) Johnson of Atlanta, and Shameka Reid (Chris Perry) of Dublin, Georgia, Johnny "Pete" Reid, Jr., (Flossie Knight) of Columbia, South Carolina, Jeremy Reid of Dublin, Georgia, and Joshua Reid of Ocala, Florida, siblings, Albert Reid, Jr.,of Jonesboro, Georgia, Patricia (Leslie) Chiles, of Temple, Texas, Kenneth (Maria) Reid of Seirra Vista, Arizona, Pastor Earnest T. Reid, Sr., of Killeen, Texas, Kathy (James) Reese, of Jonesboro, Georgia, Jimmy (Keisha) Reid, Michael (Stephanie) Reid, all of Dublin, Georgia, LaToya (Elie) Johnson of Jonesboro, Georgia, aunts, Willie Mae (Rev Joe C.) Taylor and Geneva Salter, all of Dublin, Georgia uncle William "Norman" Rozier, of Detroit, Michigan, sisters-in-law, Pam Thomas of Dublin, Georgia, Ann (Charles) Johnson, and Peggy Rawls, all of Tampa, Florida, brother-in-law, Jimmy Lawson of Dublin, Georgia, special cousins, with lots of love, Lonnie Labon of Soperton, Georgia,, and Willa J. Walker of Madison, thirteen grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, both near and far, including Sherrica Bolden of Dublin, Georgia.
The family is receiving friends at 150 Werden Road, Dublin.
