Funeral Service for 85 year old, Mr. John Smith Jr. of Clarksville, Texas who went to be with his Lord October 21, 2018 in Paris Regional Medical Center, Paris, Texas will be Sunday, October 28, 2018 @ 2:30 pm. at Zion Traveler Baptist Church, 501 S. Walnut Street. Clarksville, Texas. Pastor P.A. Porchia, officiate. Interment: Mount Olive Cemetery, Clarksville, TX

Mr. John Smith Jr. was born August 20, 1933 to John Smith Sr. and Delia Woods Smith in Clarksville, TX. John accepted Christ at an early age and was a committed and devoted member to Zion Traveler Baptist Church where he served as an usher. He graduated from Cheatham High School in Clarksville, TX. He was employed by Annona Manufacturing Company, Lone Star Steel, Stoneville Furniture Co., Dollar General and Clarksville ISD as Crossing Guard. He later resided at Focus Care at Clarksville.
John was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
His last words, “I love everybody.”

He was preceded in death by both parents; sisters-Mary Scott, Katherine Scott, Martha Brown, Gracie Wilburn, and Betty S. Brooks.
He leaves to cherish his memories…….
Daughters: Patricia Pruitt, Marvlia Rosser, Sheila Nelson, and Ramona Smith-all of Clarksville, TX;Sharonda Smith of Mt. Pleasant, TX; and Vivian (Anthony) Ford of Corpus Christi, TX
Sons: Michael Nelson, Patrick Nelson, and Derrick Smith-all of Clarksville, TX; Kelvin Nelson of Corpus Christi, TX; Stanley (Nancy) Smith of McAllen, TX; Trent (Crystal) Nelson of Paris, TX; and Lloyd (Theresa) Nelson of Idabel, OK.
Sisters: Christine Amey and Lillie Malone both of Oakland, CA
Brothers: Frank Henderson of Oakland, CA; Moses (Nina) Henderson of Pittsburgh, CA; and Howard Smith of Clarksville, TX.
27 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
