Joe Soliz, 54, Eden, Texas went home to Heaven after a long fought battle with cancer at 10:30 p.m. on September 29, 2014 at Baptist Memorial.

Joe was born on August 3, 1960, in Eden, Texas to the late Cleto and Juanita Soliz. Joe worked as a laborer for most of his life. His most favorite thing to do was spend time with his family, play pool and washers. He had many lifelong friends.

Joe is survived by his one son and three daughters, Brandon Soliz and Brittany Soliz of Robert Lee, Texas; Krystal Soliz of San Angelo, Texas and Kimberly Bates and husband, John of Hamilton, Texas. He has two grandchildren, Petyon Bates and Nicholas Guzman. He is also survived by two brothers and three sisters, Danny Soliz of Brownwood, Texas, Robert Soliz of Ft. Worth, Olga Robles, Josephine Gebara and Rebecca Robles all of Eden, Texas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Rosary is 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Eden Funeral Home chapel. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2014 at St. Charles Catholic Church with graveside service following in Eden Cemetery. Pallbearers are Alex Rodgers, David Recio, Eddie Rodgers, Trey Rivas, Roger Torres and JJ Castanuela. Honorary pallbearers are Lionel Robles, Ervin Robles, Ruben Robles, Raymond Robles, AJ Saaverda and Marcus Soliz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleto and Juanita Soliz and brother, Cleto Soliz Jr.

Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Concho County Cancer Committee or Gentiva Hospice Care in remembrance of Joe Soliz. Thank you to all that loved him, called, visited and prayed for him during this fight. A special thank you to his doctors Dr. Cummings, Dr. Jastrow, Gentiva Hospice Care and Baptist Memorial for taking such great care of him through this fight with cancer.
