Funeral services for Mrs. Joann Ramsey, of Dublin,, will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015, at 11 AM at the Green Grove Baptist Church, 2418 US Highway 441 South, in Dublin. Elder Walter L. Ramsey will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Ramsey, who passed on May 25, 2015, was born on June 3, 1941, in Hahira, Georgia, to the late Walter and Ethel Williams. When she was two years old, her family moved to Miami, Florida, where she received her education. On November 3, 1958 she married the late Eddie Ramsey, and seven children were born to this union.

She was employed with Dade County Public Schools for twenty years before retiring in 1990. In May of 1977, Joann accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. She was a faithful member of Bible Baptist Church of Miami, Florida, and Green Grove Missionary Baptist Baptist Church after the family moved to Dublin in 2007. In passing, she joins her husband, Eddie W. Ramsey, Sr., who preceded her in death on December 6, 2008.

Mrs. Ramsey was also preceded in death by three children; Louethel, Lorene, Eddie, Jr.; a granddaughter, Shaquetta; by a brother, James Henry and by a sister, Mozelle.

Mrs. Ramsey leaves to mourn her children, Geraldine, Walter, Sonja, and Mary; three grandchildren that she raised, Rontanch "Peaches", Angel, and Precious; other grandchildren include, Matevia, Christopher, Sr., Theresa, John, Shantavia, Eddie, Joann Irene, Ronicha; and nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charlie (Vivian), James, Jr. (Diane) and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends at 1820 Pine Forest Circle in Dublin, and at the Dudley Funeral Home on Sunday, 6-7 PM.
