Ms. Jimmie (Dorothy) M. Ricks was born to the parentage of Earnest and Dora Lawrence in Clarksville, TX on August 25, 1940. She accepted Christ and united with St. James Baptist Church at an early age and later moved her membership to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Dorothy graduated from Cheatham High School in 1958.
