Funeral services for Mrs. Jestine Reed Coney, "Sweetnie", of Fort Wayne, Indiana, will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at 2 PM at the Greater New Friendship Baptist Church, 3265 Georgia Highway 19 South in Dublin. Bishop Harrison Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Coney, who passed on June 18, 2016 was born on November 21, 1948, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie and Bessie Lee Hurst Reed in Dublin where she also attended Mary Fleming High School. She passed away on June 18, 2016.

Mrs. Coney was preceded in death by her sisters, Willa Dean Reed Smith and Jacqueline Reed Grimes; maternal grandparents, Will and Lula Carroll Hurst; paternal grandparents, Green and Lula Prosser Reed and a cousin, Margaret Newkirk Knight.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest, Atlanta, and life partner, Edward White, Fort Wayne, Indiana; eight awesome children, Twila Reed (John) Richardson, Atlanta, Sandra Coney, Dublin, Patricia Coney, Atlanta, Tonya (Chris) Mathis, Dublin, Yolanda Coney, Dublin, Edward, Arrealle and Erica White of Fort Wayne, Indiana; three loving sisters, Christine Reed (Alvin) Smith, New Jersey, Helen Reed Jones, Carmenletia (Lamont) Reed, Dublin; two loving brothers, Charlie Reed, Jr., New Jersey and Jimmy Lee Reed, Virginia; twenty grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; loving aunt, Lou Will Hurst Smith, New Jersey; loving brother-in-law, Theodore Smith, New Jersey and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at 803 Cordelia Drive in Dublin.
