Jerry Clevenger

Jerry Eugene Clevenger, 66, of Lawson, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016, at North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City, Missouri.

Jerry was born March 1, 1950, to John Thomas (Tom) and Ruby Fern (Bennett) Clevenger in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, whom he is preceded in death by. Jerry graduated from Lawson High School in 1969 and was drafted to the United States Army in May of 1970. After serving his country Jerry married his wife, Marlys Ann (Fox) Clevenger, on July 7, 1973. Jerry was a warehouseman at Hallmark Cards for 34 years and also proudly took up the trade of becoming a locksmith. Jerry was an avid sports fan to include the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, and his beloved Regal Athletic Rebels. Jerry was a member of the Lawson Assembly of God Church, but also enjoyed attending Radiant Life Church in Kearney, Missouri, with his son and family.

Jerry is survived by his wife Marlys of the home; one son, Joshua (Tiffany) Clevenger of Kansas City Missouri; one sister, Shirley Clevenger of Lawson, Missouri. Jerry is also survived by his three grandchildren, Payton, Gavin, and Taryn, whom he adored and loved watching at all school and sporting events. Jerry will be deeply missed by all to include his extended family and many friends.

Visitation will take place Thursday, March 10, 2016, 6:00-8:00 PM at Hidden Valley Funeral Home, 412 N. Raum Street, Lawson, Missouri 64062. Funeral: Friday, March 11, 2016, 11:00 AM at the Lawson Assembly of God Church, 526 W. 6th Street, Lawson, Missouri 64062. Burial immediately following at the Old Christian Union Church Cemetery, 17990 N. Union Road, Lawson, Missouri 64062.
