Funeral services for Mr. Jerome L. Hunt, Sr., of Harvey, Louisiana, will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at the graveside in the Zion Hill Church Cemetery, 1318 Highway 319 North in East Dublin, Georgia. Reverend David G. Flowers will deliver the eulogy.

Mr. Hunt was born on August 13,1955, as the son of James Hunt and Helen Coley Hunt in Dublin, Georgia. He was a graduate of Miami Jackson High School in 1973. Soon after graduation he enlisted in the United States Army.

Mr. Hunt was blessed with a son, Jerome L. Hunt Jr., on May 10, 1981, in Inglewood, California. Later in life, he was joined in marriage to the love of his life, Diana Hunt, on December 1, 2007. As a child, he expressed his love of the Lord as his “big Sissy” Synthia did. After his time in the service, He decided he wanted to live closer to his big sister and he moved to New Orleans. After settling there, he worked for many years on the large oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico at Schlumberger Oilfield Services. He had a love for fishing and riding his motorcycle with friends when he was not busy working long hours. Mr. Hunt passed away on April 26, 2020.

Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Coley Hunt, and his sister, Synthia Geathers.

Mr. Hunt leaves behind his devoted and loving wife, Diana Hunt, and her granddaughter, Casei, his loving son, Jerome L. (Shan) Hunt, Jr., his father, James (Nadine) Hunt, his sister, Shenita Hunt (Rodney) Brown, his brother, Lorenzo (Mia) Hunt, brother-in-law, Joseph Geathers , Jr., and stepchildren, Myosha Ware, Lamaria Williams, Shanell Williams, Cornell Williams Jr., Dianell Williams and Lanikia Williams, along with a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and loving friends.
