Funeral services for Mother Evangelist Janie L. Whipple Gainor, of Dublin, will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at the Fields Faith Temple, 617 South Washington Street, Dublin. Elder Sherman Tate will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mother Gainor was born on December 26, 1931, to the late Reverend Benjamin and Mother Hattie Blue Whipple. She married the late Deacon WIllie L. Gainor in 1980. Her home church was Jordan Stream in Toomsboro, Georgia. When Mother Gainor was in her early 20s, she rededicated her life to the Lord and joined Faith Temple COGIC under the leadership of the late R. D. Fields. Later she joined Greater Victory GOGIC under the leadership of Pastor Prenis Edmond and First Lady Cathy Edmond. Mother Gainor’s greatest accomplishment after salvation was returning to night school to receive her GED. God is a mighty God; he will give you the desires of your heart. She retired from the Dublin City School System after more than 35 years. She also worked as a nurse in the old Claxton Hospital. God called her name on February 15, 2019, at 9:35 am. She was 87 years young.

She was preceded in death by one son, James Buster Whipple, brothers, Parker L. Whipple, Reverend James Whipple, Johnny Whipple, and LeRoy Whipple, and by two sisters, Evetta Payne, and Eva Mae Nelson.

She leaves to mourn and rejoice five children, Thomas C. (Sandra) Coates, Miami, Florida, Tommy S. Stanley, Dublin, Georgia, Sallie Rene Stanley, Milledgeville, Georgia, First Lady Evangelist Sandra (Pastor Sherman) Gainor-Tate, Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Cherrin D. Gainor (her personal caregiver), a grandson she raised, Tracey K. Stanley, Dublin, a total of 16 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her brother, Reverend L. V. Whipple, Dublin, Georgia, and one sister, Lucinda (Ross) Robinson, Miami, Florida.

The family is receiving friends at 306 East Mary Street in Dublin, and on Friday, February 22, 6-7 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home.
