James would like to let you know that his work here is done. In the midst of affliction, he had the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. He assured his family of this when he uttered, “Why not me?”
James was born on September 29, 1952 to Oliver and Cecil Wooten. He was the “baby” of the family. This afforded him the unique nickname “Baby Wooten.” He graduated from Clarksville High School in 1970. At an early age, he united with Zion Travelers Baptist Church.
He graduated from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in Dallas, TX where he became a licensed embalmer and funeral director.
James married Tina English Wooten in 1985. They were blessed with four wonderful daughters.
James spent several years as a local barber. Many share wonderful stories today of “Baby” cutting their hair. He also enjoyed many years as a rancher where his daughters often assisted.
James joined his father Ollie T. Wooten in the funeral business over 35 years ago. James and Tina shared the same passion of serving families which resulted in Tina obtaining her license as a funeral director. They complimented each one another as a team and enjoyed working together for over 30 years
James loved his family. Spending quality times with the ones he loved brought out the best of him!
He’s at rest with his parents and one brother, Lewis Allen Wooten.
