Funeral services for Mr. James Mack Smith, aka "Mack Scott", of Wrightsville, will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at 12 PM at the Church of Jesus at 1265 US Hwy 319 North in East Dublin. Bishop H. B. Turnley will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Smith Grove Cemetery in Harrison.

Mr. Smith was born on June 3, 1946, in Wrightsville, Georgia, to Miss Willie Ruth Smith and Mr. Bud Scott. His aunt, Allene Latimore, and husband raised him as their own.

He was educated in the Newark New Jersey School System. Mr. Smith loved sports, nice clothes and cars. He met a special jewel, Miss Leretha Pullen, after returning to Wrightsville. They were married on April 5, 1973.

He worked at Wrightsville Lumber Company, Johnson County Road Department, and several other jobs, including Graham Brothers Construction Company as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Smith passed away on February 5, 2018

Survivors include his wife, Leretha Pullen Smith, and eight children, Sherrie Smith, twin girls, Latasha Smith and Nicole Bates, Lakeshia Smith, NaShawanda Smith, Ebai Smith, Valerie Pullen, Phyllis Russell, Dwight and Elizabeth Pullen, and sixty-three grand and great-grandchildren, one paternal aunt, Willie (Tee) Johnson, aunt-in-law, Lois Norris, sister-in-law, Willie Mae Williams, Savannah, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends including friends with special bonds, John Henry Pierce, Charlie Coleman, Jr., O.B. Hightower and Ken Powell of Wrightsville, and Paul Brown of August.
