James William "JR." Burris September 13, 1953 - November 22, 2011 Laurens County JAMES WILLIAM BURRIS JR. was quit the man a strong hard working man with the up most respect and courage,and dignity that I had the pleasure of having for a Father he also was a son, brother, a husband in each of those roles he played his part. There are millions of fathers just as there are millions of grains of sand yet as far as I am concerned there has never been a father like mine he was never the center of attention he loved his grand-kids, old cars, experimenting with food both cooking and eating I called him a red-neck Martha Stewart when he cooked he would fix enough to feed a army and would call everyone he knew to come and get some and company he loved daddy would do what-ever it took to accommodate you so you didn''t have to leave. We would talk almost daily and night on the phone sometimes two and three times or more boy how I miss that wish Heaven had phones. Daddy was a man of few words he would have never made a public figure those of us who lived with him knew all his good qualities and his human failings but we all knew that he was always the one to call in the time of need or an emergency nine times out of ten he was there anyway without having to be asked that’s just how daddy was. Gadgets and technology was not his thing he was from the old school where you did it yourself. Daddy probably had his lonely moments and pain but he never complained, He was not rich by worldly standards but if love were wealth I have been made the richest in the world, Thank You!!Daddy I sure do miss you and don''t like that you are gone .You ask me a few days before you passed about what you would be remembered for your legacy well I would have to say just as I told you then wonderful memories, caring and for being there when it counted the most , laughter and tears you are and will always be my hero my one and only daddy. God please take care of him because he surely does deserve it,Thank you so much Daddy I miss you so much yet I know you''re at peace now Daddy it''s time to rest .
