Funeral services for Deacon James Edward Blair, 75, of Wrightsville, Georgia, will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at the Lovett Grove Community Baptist Church, 1359 Idylwild Road in Wrightsville. Dr. Keith Geter, pastor, will be the eulogist. Pastor Terrace Pullen of Harrison Spring Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Deacon Blair, affectionately known as “Cal” and “Lawman”, was born on December 9, 1942, in Johnson County, Georgia, and was one of nine children. He was a lifelong resident of Wrightsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Clydie Blair of Wrightsville, Georgia and a sister, Mrs. Rosa Ella Williams.

Deacon Blair was a devoted father, grandfather, uncle and friend. At an early age, he joined Lovett Grove Baptist Church where he was a faithful member. He was a devoted singer for more than 50 years in Gospel Five and the True Gospel Singing Group. He was also a member of the Spiritual New Faith Gospel Singers. He was a devoted deacon of the Lovett Grove Community Baptist Church. He was a retired truck driver with B & H Transfer where he worked for over 20 years. Deacon Blair entered his eternal rest on Wednesday, October 17, 2018.

He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory his loving children: Beverly Harris of Augusta, Jennifer Blair of Wrightsville, Pastor Curtis (Kim) Blair of Wrightsville, Elder Nicole (Jerome) Rich-Stevens of Bowling Green, Virginia, James Dudley of Harrison, Franklin Johnson of Wrightsville, Natasha (Cedric) Baldwin of Savannah, Armon (Amber) Evans of Macon, three sisters, Mildred Dixon of Dublin, Redie Dudley and Mary (Jimmy) Elbert, both of Meriden, Connecticut, four brothers: Verlion Blair, Perlie Blair both of Wrightsville, Harry Parrish of Meriden, Connecticut, and Gene (Gene) Blair of Waterbury, Connecticut, one devoted brother-in-law, Eugene Williams, Sr., of East Dublin, 14 grandchildren, and four devoted grandchildren, Rashida McClendon, Matthew Harris, Curtravier Daniels and Juslexia Daniels, three great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, including a devoted niece, Barbara Blair, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and several devoted friends, Steve Hightower, Tommy Knight, Bobby Lee Grady, Gene Hall, Cynthia Evans, the entire Strickland family, all of Wrightsville, and Gloria Simms of Augusta, a special friend, Jackie Battle of Wrightsville, a loving caretaker: Susie Swint of Wrightsville.

The family is receiving friends at 43 Shurling Drive in Wrightsville. The procession will leave from 101 Folsom Drive in Wrightsville on Sunday. Please post condolences at ServicesbyDudley.com.
