Services for Mr. Ivan Akeem Antwan Jones, I, “Ibo”, of Dublin, Georgia, will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at the Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 494 Evergreen Road in Dublin. Interment will follow in Kirkland’s Cemetery in Midville. Reverend E. Neil Dixon will deliver the eulogy. Viewing will be only at the church on Saturday, 11 AM-12 PM.

Born on March 3, 1987, to Daphne Johnson Howard and Kenneth Jones, I, Ivan was his mom’s “Smiling Baby,” He was a graduate of Dublin High School in 2005. He worked several places until his health declined.

At an early age, Mr. Jones joined the Roundtree Island Baptist Church in Summertown. He later joined the Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Dublin. Mr. Jones was debonair and was known for the fashions he wore and for his comical personality. He lived a fruitful life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He passed away on May 5, 2019. His grandmother, Mrs. Grace Ola Lawrence Johnson, and brother, Mr. Demetrius Jones, preceded him in death.

Mr. Jones will continue to live on in the lives of those who loved him including his son, Ivan Jones, II, his parents, Daphne and Michael Howard of Dublin, and Kenneth Jones, I, of Swainsboro, his siblings, Reverend Cornelius D. (TaShena) Jones I, Kenneth Leon Jones II, Prestia Marie Floyd, Preston Floyd III, all of Dublin, Kenyatta Natasha (Fred) Daughtry and Mack Kenneth Rackins, all of Swainsboro, his grandparents, Jackie Johnson of Lexy, Helen (Jerry) Williams, Kirk Williams, of Swainsboro; Mary Alice Prince of Du Martha Lawrence – Bonaire, nieces and nephews, Madison, Donte II, Kennedy, Demetrice and Uriah Jones, all of Dublin, aunts and uncles, Reverend Greg C. (Carol) Johnson; Placida Means, all of Conyers, Theresa Phillips, Katrina Woods, Reggie (Karen) Jones, Terry (Shalondria) Jones, Michael Jones, Tim Jones, and Tori Jones, all of Swainsboro; Brian (Tisha) Howard of Newport News, Virginia; Patricia Howard, Peggy Howard and Mary Jane (Preston) Floyd, all of Dublin, Woodrow Howard, Jr. of Augusta, godparents, Winfred “Lee” and Stephanie McCloud, god siblings, Alan Robinson, Victoria Nunez, Shumara Carswell, Ken Kemp, Alyssia McCloud, TreKenya Buckner, Miracle Howard, Alex Arline, Jay Kates and Kristen Dixon, best friends, Cortez Hicks, Chris Smith, Brantley Johnson, Kethen Hollings, Mario Maddox and Ramon Wright.
