YORK -- Irene Armstrong Putnam, 88, of 114 Springdale Dr passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Gene Feagin officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Irene was a daughter of the late Walter Armstrong and Nannie Millen Armstrong. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was retired from Winthrop College. She was the widow of Roy Finney Putnam.
She is survived by sons, Alan Putnam of Rock Hill, SC, Michael Putnam of McConnells, SC, daughters, Ann Broom of York, SC, Sara Moore of Rock Hill, SC, six brothers, Jim Armstrong, Bill Armstrong, Kenneth Armstrong, Mack Armstrong, Jack Armstrong, Bobby Armstrong, three sisters, Lucille Morgan, Betty Cook, and Nancy Faye Kelley, caregiver Bobbie Jean Cannon, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Irene was preceded in death by grandson Jeffrey Moore.
