Funeral Services for Ms. Ida Lue Ficklin Tinsley of Chester will be held on Friday, April 26, at 11:00 AM at Springfield Baptist Church, 256 Carolina Ave South in Chester. Interment will follow in the Burch Cemetery in Chester. Reverend Horace Johnson will officiate. She will be placed in the church one hour prior to service.

Ms. Tinsley who passed on Sunday, April 21, was born January 28, 1944, to the late Jack and Willie Mae Ficklin in Chester. She was a retired textile worker and a member of Springfield Baptist Church.

Ms. Tinsley was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, A.W. Ficklin, Eddie Lee Ficklin, Lonnie Ficklin, and Kelton Ficklin.

Ms. Ficklin is survived by her five children, Tony Ficklin of Chester, Curtiss Tinsley, Jr., of Dublin, Abigail Tinsley, Duncan Tinsley, and Veronica Tinsley all of Chester; goddaughter, Tacsha Jones of Cochran; three sisters, Effie King of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Stella Walker of Chester, and Nellie Ficklin of Irvington, New Jersey; one brother, Charles Ficklin of Chester and one sister-in-law, Joyce Ficklin of Lake City, Florida, fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 311 Montgomery Street in Chester and also at the Dudley Funeral Home on Thursday, April 25, from 7-8 pm.
