Horace Roberts

Funeral services for Mr. Horace Lee Roberts, of Wrightsville, will be held on Saturday, January 4, at 2:00 pm at the Mt. Pleasant AME Church, 868 Bill Oliver Road in Wrightsville. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Reverend James Jenkins will officiate.

Mr. Roberts, who passed on December 31, was born on October 17, 1928, to the late Walter and Mamie Roberts of Wrightsville. He was educated at Vicker Hill and employed as an Industrial Worker.

He was a faithful and devoted member of Mt. Pleasant AME Church serving as a Stewardess and a Deacon for many years. He was preceded in death by a child, Lillie (Charles Dupont); a brother, Albert Roberts; granddaughter, Yvette Dupont; and great grandchild, Shakira.

Mr. Roberts is survived by wife of sixty four years, Annie Pearl Roberts; child, Lillie Roberts of Miami; six sisters, Lee Taylor of Baltimore, Maryland, Teen (Ray) of Baltimore, Maryland, Ollie Lee Roberts, Ollie Mae Brooks, Retha (L.C. Smith), Viola (Vernell Woody) of Miami, Florida; two brothers, W.L. Roberts (Margaret), James Roberts of Wrightsville; two grandchildren, Tangie (Rev. Larry Mozell) of Miami, Florida, Oliver-Scooter Cain, Jr. (Courtney) of Pace, Florida; nine great grandchildren, Shaquandra, Jarvis, Brandaise, Larieka, Veronica and Ny'lyjah, Kelisa, Christian, eight great great grandchildren; one aunt, Annie Pearl Wright of Dublin and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at 1214 Hwy 57 in Wrightsville.
