Hope Rogers-Scott

Hope U. Rogers was born on September 8, 1965 to Ms. Gloria Rogers and Mr. Billy Dykes in Odessa, TX. She grew up there and attended Odessa public schools. Later in life, Hope lived in New York, Dallas, TX and Clarksville, TX.
In 1995, while living in Dallas, Hope met the love of her life, Mr. Joe W. Scott, Jr. They married in September 1995. After over ten years of marriage, they divorced and remained life-long friends.
As part of the Clarksville community, Hope united with Zion Traveler Missionary Baptist church and participated in the choir ministry. Her work sites were JHS, Phillip’s, Tyson’s and the Deport Nursing Center.
Hope entered eternal rest on October 29, 2015 from Baylor hospital in Dallas, TX
Loved one who preceded her in death were her parents, Ms. Gloria Rogers and Mr. Billy Dykes; adopted father-Mr. Joe W. Scott, Sr.
Those left to cherish memories of her are:
Two daughters: Cherika Robinson & Sarah Washington, both of Dallas, TX
One step daughter: Tassauria Gray, Dallas, TX
Three grandchildren: Nancy Washington, Quenton Robinson and Tranayzsh Heath
Two step grandchildren: Jaylen Gran and Keith Jackson, Jr.
One brother: Jerrod Dykes, Odessa, TX
One sister: Amber, Odessa, TX
Uncle: Ed Dykes of Odessa, TX
Adopted Family: Entire family of Mr. & Mrs. Joe Scott Sr., of Clarksville, TX
Special Friends: Joe W. Scott Jr & Cornel Washington of New York
