Funeral services for Mr. Hommie Lee Scott, known as "Stoney Shine" of Wrightsville, will be held on Monday, August 5, 2019, at 3 PM at the Buckeye Baptist Church, 2176 New Buckeye Road, East Dublin. Reverend Terry Pullen will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Scott Cemetery on Bill Oliver Road in Wrightsville.

Mr Hommie Lee Scott was born June 2, 1940, in Wrightsville, to the late Mr. Joe Cason and Inez Scott. He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. On July 30, 2019, the angel of the Lord shined a light down on the soul of Mr. Hommie Lee Scott, stating that it was time to come through the gates.

Mr. Scott leaves to cherish his memories a loving and special friend, Kenneth Holmes, eight children, Diane (Esar) Pierce, Willie Lee Jenkins, Lucille J. Waters, Ready (John) Norris, Vikki (Tracy) Lewis, all of Wrightsville, six sisters, Willie J. Wright, of Atlanta, Christine (Ernest) Butler, Willene Gregory, Dorothy Wright, Jennie Cason, Darlene (Gerald) Weaver of Wrightsville, and Pearl Cason of Kansas City, Missouri, a half sister, Annie Pearl Shine, a devoted aunt, Winnie Johnson, twenty-one grandchildren, forty-eight great grandchildren, seven great great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
