Henry De Bie

Henry De Bie was born December 28, 1928 to Bert and Lena De Bie in Haywarden, Iowa. He is the oldest of four: brother Marvin and sisters Leona and Betty Carol. The family moved to Norwalk, Ca in 1942. Later moving to Artesia and then to Bellflower. His father worked in a shipyard until the end of WW2. Henry was asked to drop out of school to help his father start in the dairy industry in Paramount. A year later, Marvin dropped out as well to help. They then moved to Cypress, Ca. On August 1, 1954 his father died of heart complications. On September 6, 1954 his mother passed away due to tragic car accident. Henry and Marvin took over the dairy. They relocated to Ontario, Ca in 1963 and later retired from the dairy in 1985.

Henry served in the infantry during the Korean Conflict from December 6, 1950 and returned home on September 6, 1952.

Henry met his wife Florence in his cruising days in Bellflower. They were married on August 26, 1955. They have four children, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Henry and Florence spent time traveling in their travel trailer attending Bluegrass music festivals.

First family is Chuck, together with Carol Howlett with sons, Gregory and Steven. Next is Paula together with Louis with their son Jessie who has a wife, Teri, and Stepson Zachary and daughter Jenny. Then there is Heidi together with James and their daughter Emilee and sons Bryan and Justin. And Peter together with Jennifer with daughter Audrey and son Hendrick.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 6 at Calvary Chapel Ontario, !957 Vineyard Ave. Ontario, Ca 91761 at 2:00 p.m.
