Funeral services for Mother Helen Thomas-Medley, of New York, will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the Macedonia Baptist Church at 4195 US Highway 80 W in Montrose, Georgia. Dr. C. L. Cason will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Helen Thomas was born on March 31, 1937, in Montrose, Georgia, to Thomas and Beauty Coley. She was raised in Montrose where she lived until adulthood. She relocated to Elmira, New York, and later moved to Queens, NY. In 1956, she gave birth to her dear son, Rene (Margaret) Thomas. She became a senior missionary in 1981 at the Refuge Church of Christ. In 2002, she married Elder Duval Medley and they lived in Jamaica, New York. She retired from the Long Island Nursing Home in 2002 after 30 years of service. Mrs. Thomas-Medley passed away on October 25, 2017.

Mrs. Helen Thomas-Medley is survived by her siblings, Wayne (Marsha) Coley, Wilbert Coley, Geneva (William) Peoples, Evelyn Coley, Theresa Coley, and her sister-in-law, Mary Coley, her grandsons, Everett (Stacey), Sean (Shanika), Corey (Vikanh), and Justin (Talaya), eight grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and stepchildren and godchildren.
