Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Wells Roberson, of Dublin, will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at the Mount Pullen AME Church, 1304 Lakeway Road, East Dublin. Pastor Ted Walters will deliver the eulogy.
Mrs. Helen Wells Roberson was born on October 26, 1940, to the late George Wells and Dessie Mae Guyton Wells. After graduating from B. D. Perry High School, she migrated to Newark, New Jersey, where she met her husband of 52 years, William Jack Roberson. In 1996, she retired as a nurse from New York, and returned to her southern roots in Dublin. She lived a life that focused on being a compassionate daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Before all else, she was a devoted steward of God and His Word.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Wells and a sister, Julia (Robert) James.
Mrs. Roberson transitioned from time to eternity on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Emerald City Lodge after a long illness.
Mrs. Roberson is survived by her son, Derrick Roberson, and three granddaughters, Giavanna Helen Roberson, Olivia Delana Roberson and Spencer William Mott of Cherry Hill, New Jersey; two sisters, Georgia Wells Smith of Springfield, Massachusetts; and Eunice Wells Owens of Santa Clarita, California, a brother, ,Timothy Wells of Dublin, four sisters-in-law, Annie (Sweet) Slade, Evelyn Trowell and Glenda Springer, all of New York City, Geraldine Wells of East Dublin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and very special friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 24, 6 PM - 9 PM, at 908 Pinehill Road in Dublin.
