Funeral Services for Mrs. Helen Elizabeth Coley Hunt, 79, of Savannah, will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 11 AM at the Buckeye Baptist Church, 2176 New Buckeye Road, East Dublin. Reverend David G. Flowers will officiate. Burial will follow in the Zion Hill AME Church Cemetery, 1318 US Highway 319 North, East Dublin.

Mrs. Hunt was born on May 8, 1936, in Dublin, to the late John Albert and Sadie Coley. She was educated in the public schools of Laurens County.

She was united in Holy Matrimony and to that union two children were born, who were the pride and joy of her life, daughter, Synthia and son, Jerome.

Mrs. Hunt later relocated to Miami, Florida where she was employed by various companies such as the Grand Way – Grand Union Chain Stores. Her last place of employment for over 25 years was the Publix Supermarket on Biscayne Bay in Miami where she worked in customer relations, where she came in contact with so many people that knew and respected her. She was always caring and compassionate and ready to lend a hand.

She enjoyed working her publishers clearing house sweepstakes and playing her lotto scratch offs with Lil Marcus and Krystina.

She is preceded in death by Nora Wright, Gladys Wright and Annie Lawson.

Mrs. Hunt leaves to mourn two children, Synthia (Joseph) Geathers of Savannah and Jerome (Dianna) Hunt of Harvey, Louisiana; sisters, Mildren (Kenneth) Holmes of Dublin and Bertha O’Neal of Pembroke Pines, Florida; brothers, Hilton (Minnie) Coley and Felton Coley all of Winston Salem, North Carolina; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and a host of loving friends.

The family will receive friends at 1769 New Buckeye Road, East Dublin.
