Harrold Mallory

Funeral services for Dr. Harrold W. Mallory, of Dublin, will be held on Monday, June 10, 2019, at 11 AM at the Greater Macedonia Baptist Church North, 1824 Claxton Dairy Road, Dublin. Overseer E. Neal Dixon will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in the Society Cemetery in Macon.

Dr. Mallory was born and raised in Macon, Georgia, and attended Ballard Hudson High School. After high school, he served in the United States Air Force, and was stationed in England and France. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Education from Fort Valley State College in 1964, a Masters in Education from the University of Georgia in 1957, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Psychology from the University of Utah in 1972. Professionally, He served as an educator in the Bibb County School System, a professor at Fort Valley State College, and later as a clinical psychologist at the Dublin Veterans Administration Hospital in Dublin. He was a passionate sports fan; he loved baseball and basketball, and was often court-side at the games in Dublin. He was an avid fisherman when he wasn't fixing on his car or if something in the house that needed repairing.

Dr. Harrold West Mallory died peacefully on June 6, 2019, after a courageous journey with Alzheimer's disease. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hezekiah Howell and Annie Snow.

Dr. Mallory leaves behind a community of loving friends and family who will treasure the laughter, fun, advice and wisdom he shared.He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Beverly Mallory, and nine children, Gavin Mallory, Jeremy Mallory, Sherri (Robert) Mitchell, Carol Banks, Robert Mallory, Larry Mallory, Michael Mallory, Yvette Davis, and Kenneth (Rhonda) Mallory, sisters, Lavonia Harper, and Martha Ford, cousin, Mary Sanders, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 650 Fairfield Drive, Dublin.
