Gregory Mack
Funeral services for Mr. Gregory Keith Mack Sr., of East Dublin, Georgia, will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at the Williams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1142 Soperton Avenue in East Dublin. Reverend John R Sutton will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Valdosta Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Mack was born on October 17, 1961, from the union of Lula Mack and the late Willie Mack. He is a native of Dublin, Georgia. He became a member of Valdosta Baptist church in East Dublin. Following his graduation from Dublin High School in 1980, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served in an exemplary manner in the United States Army as an Airborne Paratrooper from February 2, 1982, until March 14, 1989. He served in the 82nd Infantry Division (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Fort Richardson, Alaska (Light Infantry Battalion (Airborne)). He conducted multiple OCONUS deployments; to include, the Sinai Peninsula as a part of a Multinational Peacekeeping Force and Observers; as well as, and in Panama, as a Sniper and Squad Leader.
Following his honorable service in the United States Military, he worked as a medical service technician for the Carl Vinson Veterans Administration Medical Center. He later resided in North Augusta, South Carolina, until death. While living in the Augusta area, he attended and graduated from a Culinary Arts Academy. Additionally, he attended Elim Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia, under the watch-care and Pastoral leadership of George C. Miller, III. While attending Elim Baptist Church, Mr. Mack participated in the male choir and served on the Usher Board. Mr. Mack passed away on December 31, 2019.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Mack.
Mr. Gregory Mack, Sr. leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Lula Mack, his daughters, Nicki (Bentwan) Taylor of Warner Robins, Brooke Mack of Dublin, and Tybrianna Mack of Wrightsville, his son, Gregory Keith (Vanesa) Mack, Jr. of Killeen Texas, his siblings, who are twins, Timmy (Lisa) Mack of Hope Mills, North Carolina, and Tammy (Gabriel) Blackshear of Newport News, Virginia, grandchildren, Kennedi Taylor, Kamryn Taylor, Brooklyn Mack and Skylar Mack, uncles, David Mack, aunts, Alberta Mitchell, Patricia Mitchell, Barbara Mack, Ella Mack, and Ethel Terrell. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
