Grady Johnson

The homegoing celebration for Mr. Grady Lee Johnson Sr., of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at 1 PM at the Buckeye Baptist Church, 2176 New Buckeye Road in East Dublin. Reverend David Flowers will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Grady Lee Johnson, Sr., was born on November 20, 1935, in Johnson County to the late Mr. Jabo Wright and Ms. Mary Johnson. He retired after thirty years as a certified nursing assistant at the Carl Vinson Veterans Hospital, after a term of service in the United States Army. He was a barber at Thomasenor's Beauty and Barber Shop for fifty-seven years.

On March 25, 2019, Mr. Grady Lee Johnson, Sr., was called from labor to reward while resting in the comfort of his home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Ophelia W. Johnson, sons, Grady Johnson, Jr., Little Master Kenneth Johnson, granddaughter, Keona Johnson, daughter-in-law, Sherrilyn Johnson, sisters, Edera Johnson, Lelia Brye, Geraldine Linder, Mary J. Coley, Betty Ann Williams, brothers, James Wright, Arthur "Shorty" Wright, Georgia (G. W.) Wright, and a brother-in-law, Thurmon Chapman.

He is survived by his children, Myra Johnson of Atlanta, Marcella Johnson, Larry (Joann) Johnson, Askari (Constance) Johnson, all of Dublin, daughter-in-law, Ms Tawanna Johnson of Macon, sisters, Ms. Gladine (Daniel) White, Marshall W. James of Miami, Florida, Jo Myricks of Dublin, brothers, Robert (T.C.)Wright of Bronx, New York, Lester (Evie Jean) Wright, Lee Arthur (Ada M) Wright , Lee Washington Wright of Bronx, New York, and Bennie (Ethel) Wright. six sisters-in-laws, eight brothers-in-laws, a mother-in-law, Ms. Daisy Walker of Oconee, Georgia, and aunts, Hazel Chillis of Bufallo, New York, Flossie W. Scott of Chicago, Illinois, an uncle, William Wright of Miami, Florida, fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, devoted friends, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie (Francis) Norris, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 607 South Decatur Street in Dublin.
