Grace Gelvin

Grace Elder Gelvin, 102, died November 19, 2006 at Redwood Terrace Health Center, Escondido, Ca. Born March 29, 1904 in Iowa, she moved with her husband to Escondido in 1969 from Tulsa, Ok., where they had lived thirty years. Grace was known for her beautiful singing voice and often surprised visitors with renditions of arias she remembered. Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Lyle Millard Gelvin in 1984, and by her son Lyle Millard Gelvin, Jr., in 1996. She is survived by four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

No formal service was held at the request of the deceased. Private services were held at the gravesite in Marshalltown, Iowa, December 18, 2006
